The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) could call for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
This development follows Trump’s response to the violence at the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville where a car mowed down a group of anti-racism protesters, killing 3.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides,” Trump said in response to the violence.
“On many sides” is politically unwarranted as Trump should have directly condemned the violence without appearing to sit on the fence.
In 1973 The CBC called for the impeachment of President Richard Nixon. Nixon resigned the following year ahead of definite impeachment.
