Sonnet of the Templars’ Vow

Men of armour, guarding the night
Protected by faith
And steel of heavy weight
Worthy of the name knights

Sworn to fight for the cause
They took vows of chastity
Flee all gain, embrace all loss
So ardent was their fidelity

Albeit, their days came in heavy
But a Templar would not yield
Many soldiers would come to levy
to fight and die in the field

Farewell to the knights of the church
And God bless, we miss you very much
